The Big Picture: From Genesis to Revelation

In “The Big Picture,” Pastor Brett takes an entire year walk through the Bible, from “In the Beginning” to the very last “Amen.” Most of us would say we value the Bible, but how well do we really know the big picture? This series will show us that the true story of the whole world has been in our hands all along … and that every page of it points back to one person – Jesus Christ.

One Year Bible Reading Plan

In 2017, Pastor Brett will take an entire year to walk through the Bible, from “In the beginning” to the very last “Amen” in

The Big Picture. This series will show us that the true story of the whole world has been in our hands all along — and that every page of it points back to one person: Jesus Christ.

During this time, we will be learning the whole story of the Bible together as our sermons, Bible reading plans, LifeGroup studies, and family devotionals all move toward this goal. It’s our hope and prayer that you will join with us in this journey as you grow in the habit of reading the Bible daily.

The “Big Picture” plan will be approximately 1 to 2 chapters of Scripture per day and follow closely with the weekend teaching. It will help you get the big picture of most books in the Bible. It can be found each month on the tear-off portion of the monthly update handed out in service, linked to the right, as a feature on the Forefront App or on Twitter @readthebibleco

The “Every Verse” plan will be approximately 4 to 5 chapters of Scripture per day and cover every word in the Bible. It can be found printed at the Information Center during any weekend worship experience or on Twitter @readthebibleco.

The Whole Story for Families

The psalmist reminds us that our children are like arrows being prepared to launch into the mission of God. This year as we walk through “The Big Picture” of Scripture as a church, we want to equip parents with resources that will help lead their children to know and love the Word of God and prepare them for their role in God’s grand story.

As a first step, we’re encouraging parents to purchase a copy of the Jesus Storybook Bible (also available at the Information Center) and begin having weekly devotionals with their children. Each week on this site you will find the recommended reading from The Jesus Storybook Bible that most closely aligns with our sermon series and the ‘Whole Story’ Bible reading plan for adults. The Jesus Storybook Bible, as well as other resources we’ll be providing throughout the year, will help your children both understand and have a deeper love of God’s Word.

With the help of RightNowMedia.com, we have free access to a video series called “What’s in the Bible?” This gospel-centered and entertaining video series looks at the Bible from Genesis to Revelation in a way you and your kids will enjoy, and would be great to watch together as part of your family worship time!
